A great question!

I came close to buying every single version of them but it never happened. As a kid I loved the lines of the 1st gen xjs v12. When the 2nd gen came out I contacted the dealer in my area and half the car fell off during the test drive, ranging from bits of trim, even the driver side door handle. Needless to say that was not very confidence inspiring. I still believe the 2nd gen have the best looking interior and retain some of that British charm missing from the 3rd gen, wood work in particular is still amazing. I then came close to buying a db7 convertible a rare v12 with a manual gearbox based on the chassis on the 1st gen but it diidnt happen either. The 3rd gen especially in xkr configuration remains quite a popular model, more so than the F type. I like the muscular lines of the 3rd gen quite a bit but if forced to choose one I would probably cast my vote for the 2nd gen in convertible form!

Well, if we exclude the Legendary E Type, and the current F Type ( which is my absolute favorite modern Jaguar Coupé ), we had: The XJ: Then, from 1996 to 2006, the XK first generation: Replaced by the XK second generation, in 2006: If I had to choose, it...

In complete agreement :)

Agree also on the F Type Tried the V8. A specimen of gorgeous with growl. Considering personal and practical reason I will take F Type V8 over for E Type. Forgive Me Vlad

In the brochures from 1977 the Jaguar is a coupé and the Daimler a two door saloon. LdB

I am bias of course, as I own a 2nd gen. XK (X150), but I really think it is the best, in modern era..

 By: Cocolex : May 11th, 2024-20:30
I drove a previous XK8 (1st gen), they feel and drive pretty much like an XJ from the same era.. The dashboard is very similare too, the car feels heavy. The XK 2nd gen. With its aluminum body and upgraded gearbox, is more responsive, and dives better. It...

I purchased a one new back then. Sold my 95 wide body Porsche to get it After the XK moved on to the XJL. Equally wonderful.

5 XK2 / 2 XJ. Bravo!

Not only one of the most beautiful Jaguars ever, but I really think it's one of the most beautiful cars. If I hadn't heard ownership horror stories/the interior wasn't so small/auto only I'd have bought one instead of my Cayman. I still might get one one ...
